Sunday 6th September
Grange 168 for 9 (T. Heathcote 52no, C. Conwell 28no, E Duboulay 27) Comrie 144 all out (G Radford 3 for 25, B Kaczynski 3 for 15) A fine afternoons cricket saw a mixed Grange team take on Comrie who enlisted a certain C. Coles desperate for a match.
Batting first, Heathcote continued his fine form with a masterclass in quick singles and run counting. Ably backed up by the fine hitting of Conwell and Duboulay we made it to 168 on a slow turning wicket. The find of the day was Gabriel’s fine spell of left-arm swing bowling taking a wicket with his first ball and ousting the prize wicket of Coles twice (dropped the previous ball). Kaczynski turned to his slow off-breaks with excellent effect. Well done, everyone – a spirited fun and enjoyable game!
