Week 9 - Summary
Written by Andy Wilson

Grange I (25) beat Carlton I (8) by 5 wickets.

Carlton 208-8 (BG Lockie 73, J Packman 5-44)
Grange 209-5 (NFI McCallum 93*, J Packman 44)

Livingston lost to Grange II by 45 runs

Grange 2nd XI 190 - 7 (Parkinson 104, Reimoo 21, Creasey 20, Ligertwood 18, Scott 16*)
Livingston 155 all out (Reimoo 3-16, Downes 2-28, Scott 2-26)

Largo lost to Grange III by 7 wickets
Largo 203-8 (McCoy 3 for 32 off 10, M Banks 2 for 39 of 10, Radford 1 for 35 off 10, Kaczynski 1 for 36 off 10, C Banks 1 for 34 off 8)

Grange III 204-3 (M Banks 128 n/o, Churcher 42 n/o, Kaczynski 22)

Decent win for threes away to Largo on Saturday.  After the toss and inserting the opposition (poor history of batting first here), the bowling allowed Largo quick runs at the start and at the death but put the squeeze on scoring for most of the innings.  Tight fielding kept Largo to 203 for 8.  Pick of the bowling came from Daryll with 3 wickets, Max took 2 and 1 a piece for Gabs, Kaz and the second oldest man.

With a galaxy of batting talent, a winning total on an easy pitch looked well within reach.  Largo's pacey attack quickly reduced us to 5 for 2, then enter Max "on fire".  The ball disappeared to all parts as the Grange youth policy kicked in.  Excusing the paternal hype, it was an innings you would pay money to watch (well, I have) as the Boy hit 128 n/o to secure victory in the 39th over. Kaz (22) made it back to Don Giovanni, and JC knocked a surprising cultured 42 n/o including six over the bowler's head.

Week 8 - Stags III
Written by Birdman
HCC 190-8 (R Hiley 94, B Kaz 3-30), Grange III 191-4 (B Seaman 54, N Landsberg 48, G Radford 26, A Croall 15, B Kaz 16*, J Swee 15*, K Bird 2-0-28-0 (12 wides))

Grange III won by sex weckats!

Heavy cloud, green wicket, weather forecast to brighten up as the day progressed. I don’t know who won the toss, but we decided to field. Duncan opened the bowling with his elder, and Gabs and Elder did a very good job. Gabs might have got a wicket, but I really can’t remember (well held Magnus). The only interesting thing that happened was Duncs getting some bloke with a red lid caught behind off his pad. Red lid got thrown across the square and some bloke stomped off after it.....
