Ryan Sidebottom To Join Mazars Grange
Mazars Grange Cricket Club are delighted to announce the signing of former England fast bowler Ryan Sidebottom for the 2018 season.
Following his retirement from first class cricket last year, Sidebottom will come north of the border to experience Scottish cricket on and off the field. Ryan arrives with a fully decorated international career, having claimed 79 Test wickets in 22 matches for England. Ryan was part of the side that won the 2010 T20 World Cup in the West Indies, England's first global trophy. He also has the honour of taking 1 of only 34 hat tricks in Test cricket.
Alongside playing in the 1st XI, Sidebottom will help with coaching the junior section at Grange which will be a great boost to all the young Stags to learn from.
Director of Cricket John Blain is delighted with the news
“Securing Ryan’s presence at Mazars Grange further indicates the ambition of the club. He will offer a huge amount on and off the field across both our seniors and juniors. We have gained one of world cricket's most recognisable characters and, more importantly, a good man."
A spokesperson from sponsors Mazars, Brian Hay Smith, was keen to add:
“We are delighted in welcoming Ryan Sidebottom to Grange. This is a testament to the strong links between Yorkshire CCC and Mazars Grange, which we have pleasure in being a part of. I am sure that the whole club and wider Grange community will benefit from Ryan’s presence and we look forward to the upcoming season for both the player and the club."
